About us

A quieter room in the online dating world

We did not set out to build a flashy dating app. We set out to build the room we wished had existed ten years ago - one where the first conversation is about books, or grief, or a laugh, and never about inches.

Size-positive · Judgment-free · Built in 2024
The origin story

How this community came to exist

My Free Dating Sites began in a long, honest conversation between friends in late 2023. One of us had just left a mainstream app after the third time a match had ghosted mid-conversation the moment an intimate disclosure felt imminent. The other had spent years as a therapist listening to men quietly unpack the same story: an offhand comment in a locker room, a cruel review whispered at a party, a partner who left without ever saying the real reason.

We kept coming back to the same observation. There were thousands of dating platforms, but none of them were designed around the emotional reality of being a man who has been made to feel small - or of being a partner who has always known that size is not the point. The closest adjacent spaces were either too kink-forward, too paid-paywall heavy, or too quietly hostile. Nobody had tried to build something that felt like a members-only club for emotional honesty.

So we did. The first version of this intimate dating app launched quietly in 2024 to a closed group of 120 testers. There was no photo requirement, no size filter, no swipe loop. What there was, almost immediately, was conversation. Members stayed online for hours. First messages ran to paragraphs. A therapist on our early team reviewed the first thousand chats and reported back with one sentence: “Nobody is performing.”

We are not the biggest dating site and we never plan to be. We want to be the one you stay with the longest - because what you find here is quieter, kinder, and actually yours.

Two years later, we serve a community that spans the United States and beyond. Members are writers, nurses, IT engineers, teachers, tradespeople, therapists, and the occasional retired philosophy professor. What holds them together is not a demographic - it is a shared agreement that intimacy deserves a better setting than a swipe.

Our mission

What we stand for

Three commitments that shape every design decision, every moderation call, and every line of microcopy on the platform.

Size-positive by default

We refuse to treat size as a filter, a metric, or a joke. Profiles lead with who a person is - their curiosity, their warmth, their pace. The rest is private and, frankly, not very interesting.

Privacy as a starting line

Anonymous profiles, encrypted messaging, and one-click deletion are the baseline, not a premium add-on. You should not have to pay to be safe on a niche dating site.

Empathy, spelled out

Every button, tooltip, and error on this platform is written by people who know what dismissal feels like. The tone is warm on purpose, and we guard it the way other sites guard engagement metrics.

The difference

What makes us different from other niche dating sites

Most dating platforms measure success in monthly active users. We measure it in conversations that last longer than twenty minutes, in matches that still message each other six months later, and in members who eventually write to tell us they have quietly deleted their accounts because they do not need us anymore. Here is what that looks like in practice.

  • We do not sell your attention

No third-party ad trackers run on logged-in pages. No partner marketing. No retargeting pixel follows you to another tab. Our business model is a simple, optional membership - not your data.

  • We moderate with a spine

Size-shaming, coercion, racism, homophobia, and transphobia are removed on first report. Our human moderation team reviews within twelve hours, around the clock. No three-strike theatre.

  • We write in sentences, not slogans

Read any page on the platform. You will not find a single “Unleash your wildest” headline. Our tone is editorial, unhurried, and aimed at adults who have lived a little.

  • We favour depth over discovery

You will not find infinite swiping here. Profiles are limited, matching is slow on purpose, and conversations are encouraged to start written and stay written until both people choose otherwise.

  • We are openly inclusive

Straight, gay, bisexual, pansexual, trans, non-binary, and questioning members share the same community. Allies and size-compatible partners are welcomed on equal footing. Step inside the Club to see how that feels in a room.

The context

The context we operate in

Three numbers that explain why a private, intimate dating app matters in 2026 - and why we treat discretion as infrastructure, not a feature.

50 M+ People using dating platforms Global industry estimate, 2024
1.2 M Dating-related scam reports FTC consumer sentinel, 2024
68 % Users worried about data exposure Pew Research, 2023
12 hr Median moderation response Internal data, 2026

Learn how we translate these numbers into product decisions on our Safety & Privacy page and in the How It Works walkthrough.

Non-negotiables

Community principles we refuse to compromise

These are the principles we check every product decision against. If a feature would weaken them, we do not ship it - even when a growth spreadsheet tells us we should.

  1. Consent is the floor, not the ceiling

Every interaction - from a first message to a shared photo to a video call - requires clear, affirmative consent. Members can pause, withdraw, or block without explanation. Across our kink-friendly spaces, consent is written into the etiquette itself.

  2. Bodies are not up for review

Size talk, body scoring, and “rate me” posts do not belong here. Our community is built for partners who lead with attentiveness, not measurement.

  3. Privacy is a right, not a tier

Encryption, anonymous browsing, discreet mode, and one-click deletion will always live in the free experience. Paying for privacy is a pattern we refuse to import from mainstream dating apps.

  4. Moderation is human, round the clock

Real moderators - not only automated systems - review reports, assess context, and respond within twelve hours. We publish our moderation approach openly in the FAQ.

  5. Inclusion is structural, not decorative

LGBTQ+ members, disabled members, neurodivergent members, and members of every race and faith share the same room. We do not silo communities into ghost categories.

  6. Slow is a feature

We design against dopamine loops. No streaks, no infinite swiping, no urgency timers. A connection that takes three weeks to begin is worth more than thirty that fizzle in a day.
